About the Port
The modern facilities of the Port of Lazaro Cardenas are equipped and qualified to meet with efficiency, safety and productivity all activities within industrial and commercial port of its magnitude. The port is fitted to receive large ships and all kinds of loads. Lazaro Cardenas is Mexico's only port with 18.00 meters deep access channel and 16.50 meters deep in the main ciaboga basin. It is also the only protected harbor that can receive vessels up to 165 000 tons displacement. The infrastructure for the operation of the port can be seen widely in the following description: Access and Channels: The entrance, the access channel and 4 channel port side navigation comply with international safety standards to sail in one direction only. General Services: In terms of urban industrial services, Lazaro Cardenas port has road and rail accesses, electric power of high, medium and low voltage, raw water, telephone and fuel to meet the demand of industry that can be established. |
